You can link one or more Shopify shops to your accounting system.
Follow these steps to properly link your shops.

Step 1: Install the Shopify Plugin

Step 1.1
In Shopify, go to: 'Shopify > Apps' and click on 'Visit the App Store' in the top right corner.

The plugin can be found in category: 'Accounting'.
Click on the green 'Get' button to start the install process.

The following page will be displayed:

Step 1.2
Enter your BizFusion username and password and click on 'Install Plugin' to complete the install.

Step 1.3
In BizFusion, go to: 'Setup > Shopify' and check if your shop is in the list.

Step 2: Setup Tax

European and US businesses don't have to do any tax setup.
This step is only necessary for businesses that deal with 'compound tax'.
E.g. some Canadian businesses have to deal with compound provincial sales tax.

The Shopify API does not specify if a tax rate is regular or compounded, that's why you need to manually specify this.

Step 2.1
In Shopify, go to: 'Shopify > Settings > Taxes' and select your country in the 'tax rates' section.

Step 2.2
Find the name of the tax rate that uses a compound sales tax and add the text '(compound)' to it.
E.g. if the name of the compound tax rate is called: 'PST', then rename 'PST' into 'PST (compound)'.

Important: BizFusion treats the tax rate as a regular tax rate if you don't do this!

Step 3: Import Products

You can now import your Shopify products.
Importing your products is optional, but we recommend that you do this.

You can create stock entries and purchase orders when you've imported your products.
The order import also becomes faster when you've already imported your products.

In BizFusion, go to: 'Setup > Shopify' and click on 'Import products'.

Specify the period in which the products were created/updated and BizFusion only imports the products in that period.

Step 4: Import Orders

You can start importing your orders at this point.
The order import automatically imports any missing products and tax codes.
That's why the product import is optional.

Order Import

Simply specify a period and the orders within that period are imported.
Important: BizFusion only imports orders that have been fully fulfilled.

Every Shopify order is translated into an invoice.
Go to: Income > Invoices to see the imported orders.

Here's a sample order that was imported from Shopify.
Notice that BizFusion automatically creates shipments for any imported invoices.

Credit Notes

Credit notes are not automatically imported.
You need to manually attach credit notes to invoices.

Go to: 'Income > Invoices' and select the invoice that you want to credit.

Click on menu item 'Credit Note' and the system will automatically create a concept credit note.
You can remove any items that you don't wish to credit and click on 'Save & Post'.
